“Walking and Community Service”
For the past several months, I have been walking “Nikki” in our local cemetery each day. I have noticed that many flowers blow away from gravestones, on a regular basis, as a result of our wind storms. So, as I walk Nikki, I pick up the flowers and place them next to their intended gravestones. It is a simply gesture of community service, however, I feel that it honors the soul. It is interesting, however, I feel that Nikki sends a blessing to the soul as well.

This one made me smile. I can picture You and Nikki walking along together, true friends, extending your thoughtfulness to those in the cemetery. It is a wonderful Jewish custom to leave a small pebble whenever they visit a grave; although I am not Jewish it is a custom I now acknowledge and never leave the grave of a loved one or a friend without placing a pebble on the gravestone. Thank you for sharing this experience. Judy
Dear Judy,
I was very moved by your comment. Thank you for sharing your custom of leaving the “small pebble” to honor and acknowledge the essence of soul. Thank you for sharing this custom and act of kindness.
Peace & blessings,
Veronika
