“Hummingbird Jamboree #1″

 Hummingbird #1

I had the opportunity to photograph hummingbirds for the first time.  It certainly was a challenge, however, I am satisfied with some results.  Here is a series of my 3 favorite hummingbird photographs.  I used the Shutter Priority mode of my camera and my highest shutter speed possible to try to capture the wings in flight.  I also adjusted my ISO to 1,ooo as it was an overcast day.  I hope that you enjoy the series.

“The Intuitive Moment”

 Mirror Image

I learned a long time ago that it is an intuitive moment when a photographer actually depresses a shutter speed.  This photograph depicts that essence of the intuitive moment - two dogs touching noses and posed perfectly with the wire of the fence between their noses.  This was like a zen experience of being in the moment with the animals to capture this image.  The dogs are both red-white Siberian Huskies, Spicey (left) and my Nikki II (right), playing at the Rocky Mountain Siberian Husky Club picnic yesterday.  Being of the same breed, they also reflect a mirror image of each other.  So, enjoy!

As usual, please check out my galleries to view my line of inspirational note cards, motivational posters and fine art prints.  In addition, please visit my online photography gallery to be inspired by other new images.  All of my images on Photoportfolios.net  online banner. are available as fine art prints for sale.  If interested, please call (303-823-0317) or send me an email:  orders@peacemakersart.com

“New” Photography Fine Art Print Note Cards

Storm Pass

By popular demand, I am now creating Fine Art Print Note Cards that are being sold locally here in shops in the town of Lyons. By doing so, I have been able to print local nature photographs and also fine art prints of surrounding areas, including Rocky Mountain National Park in Colorado. The cards are 5×7″ dimension and are blank on the inside for individual writing or inspiration. Also, my inspirational note cards are being sold locally as well. If you are in the Lyons area of Colorado, please visit The Food and Flicks Store or The Stone Cup to check out my selections. If you have interest in any of my images printed as 5×7″ blank Fine Art Note Cards, please call (303) 823-0317 or email: orders@PeacemakersArt.com. Also, please visit my website: www.PeacemakersArt.com for a review of my galleries.

“Animal Portraits”

Mountain Goat

Being in the right place at the right time is the first criteria for wildlife photography.  This was taken early morning in Canada, near Banff.  Actually, I was photographing several of these goats and one wandered close-by for this extraordinary portrait.  I was using my 80-200 Nikon lens and a  very low f-stop (probably 2.8 or 4) that created the blended, out-of-focus background.  Notice that the “eye” is critically sharp which is a key element for outstanding animal portraits.

My website www.PeacemakersArt.com and my blog, hopefully, will inspire readers to challenge the limits of their own photography pursuits or appreciate nature in a different way.  Please check out my galleries to view my line of inspirational note cards, motivational posters and fine art prints.  In addition, please visit my online photography gallery to be inspired by other new images.  All of my images on Photoportfolios.net  online banner. are available as fine art prints for sale.  If interested, please call (303-823-0317) or send me an email:  orders@peacemakersart.com

“Doggie Friendship”

 Doggie Friendship

Sometimes, dogs can teach us many skills about life:  body language, conflict resolution, joy, happiness and living in the moment.  Animal Photography can be a challenge.  However, a fast shutter speed, or working with the shutter priority mode of my camera, allowed me to capture these smiling dogs as they played in the dog park in Boulder.  How can you not smile and allow the blessings of wonder to fill one’s soul when you look at images like this one.  The red-white Siberian Husky is the new addition to my family,  Nikki II, surrounded by her friends Marla and Sammy.  This is joy at its best.

Please review my other image galleries on my website PeacemakersArt.com and enjoy my inspirational notecard selection, as well as motivational posters and fine art prints.  Additional new images may be viewed in my online portfolio by visiting my online gallery at online banner.
